Counselor

CBH Medical, PC looking to directly hire a License Professional Counselor (LPC) to work at the Pamunkey Regional Jail.
These positions is for 8 hour days Mon-Friday.
The LPC will be responsible for helping patients deal with a variety of mental health and daily living problems to improve their overall functioning.
Additionally, the LPC will be responsible for coordinating inpatient mental health services as well as transfers to crisis intervention and state admissions.

Responsibilities:
1.
Coordinate, monitor and administer mental health services and procedures within the medical department.
2.
Serve as mental health liaison for the medical unit.
3.
Serve as the mental health liaison for medical services, outside health care facilities and other departments regarding mental health issues.
4.
Provide one-to-one intervention and follow-up of substance abuse offenders.
5.
Coordinate and facilitate admission and placement of certified patients in forensic and community hospitals.
6.
Work cooperatively with the Department of Mental Health, county or state agencies involved in providing mental health services to the public, court service, judges and mental health services related to the courts.
7.
Train personnel in the mental health area.
8.
Evaluate mental health status of patients upon referral of a primary treatment provider.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A master's degree or doctoral degree in counseling or a related field.
Academic course work in each of the following areas:
normal human growth and development; abnormal human behavior; appraisal or assessment techniques; counseling theories; counseling methods or techniques (individual and group); research; lifestyle and career development; social, cultural and family issues; and professional orientation.
As part of the graduate program, a supervised practicum experience that is primarily counseling in nature.
The practicum should be at least 300 clock-hours with at least 100 clock-hours of direct client contact.
Academic credit for the practicum must appear on the applicant's transcript.
After completion of the graduate degree and before application, an applicant must take and pass the National Counselor Exam and the Texas Jurisprudence Exam.
After receiving a temporary LPC license from the board, the applicant may begin the supervised post-graduate counseling experience (internship).
3000 clock-hours with at least 1,500 being direct client contact of internship under the supervision of a board-approved supervisor is required.
The 3000 clock-hours may not be completed in a time period of less than 18 months.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
